Kimberly and Anthony Johnson, of Marshalltown, are the parents of a son, Hunter Lee Johnson, born at 8:38 a.m. May 31 at Marshalltown Medical & Surgical Center. Welcoming Hunter home is big brother, Christian Rayn. Grandparents are Christine Campbell, of Marshalltown, and Sandy and Robert Bennett, of Royston, Ga.

Alejandra Fonseca, 1704 Edgebrook Dr. Apt. #1, made an initial appearance on a failure to stop within an assured, clear distance charge and a no insurance charge. She pleaded guilty to both charges. On the failure to stop within the assured, clear distance charge the fine was $65 with a $22.75 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $147.75. The fine on the no insurance charge was $250 with a $87.50 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $397.50.

Chancey Frazier, address unknown, made an initial appearance on a violation of a no-contact order charge. He pleaded guilty and was $65 with a $22.75 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $147.75. The court allowed for monthly installment payments of $50 beginning July 12 until the debt is paid. A no-contact order was issued for the protected party.

Marshall Hooper, address unknown, made an initial appearance on a prohibited acts charge and a possession of drug paraphernalia charge. The public defender's office was appointed to handle his cases. The preliminary hearing is set for 1 p.m. on July 3. Hooper was released with supervision through the Adult Probation office and is to report before the end of work today and sign a pre-trial release form. A substance abuse evaluation was ordered and the results are to be submitted to the court within 60 days of today's date. The court also ordered that Hooper be photographed and fingerprinted on this matter prior to release from the Marshall County Jail.

Brad Edwards, address unknown, made an initial appearance on a dog at large charge and a violation of rabies vaccination charge. He pleaded not guilty to both charges and a pre-trial conference is set for 9 a.m. on July 16 in Magistrate Court.

Donald Edel, address unknown, made an initial appearance on two counts of a driving under suspension charge. He pleaded not guilty to both charges and a pre-trial conference is set for 9 a.m. on July 16 in Magistrate Court.

Rocky Lopez, 112 N. 13th St. Apt. #2, made an initial appearance on a prohibited acts charge and a possession of a Schedule II controlled substance-meth charge. The public defender's office was appointed to handle his cases. The preliminary hearing is set for 1 p.m. on July 3. Lopez was released with supervision through the Adult Probation office and is to report to them by the end of business today to sign a pre-trial release form. The court ordered that Lopez be photographed and fingerprinted at the Marshall County Jail prior to release.

Jose Garcia, address unknown, made an initial appearance on a interference with official acts charge and a disorderly conduct charge. He pleaded guilty to both charges. On the interference with official acts charge the fine was $250 with a $87.50 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $397.50. The fine on the disorderly conduct charge was $65 with a $22.75 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $147.75.

Tracy Sagar, 201 S. Fourth St., made an initial appearance on a promoting or sponsoring a gathering for the purpose of using, maintaining or distributing drugs charge and a possession of drug paraphernalia charge. The public defender's office was appointed to handle the cases. The preliminary hearing is set for 1 p.m. on July 3. Sagar was released with supervision through the Adult Probation office and is to report there by the end of work today to sign a pre-trial release form. The court ordered that Sagar be photographed and fingerprinted at the Marshall County Jail prior to release.

Anthony Shearer, 501 S. Second St., made an initial appearance on a violation of a no-contact order originating in Polk County. The judge set a hearing in Polk County court for 9 a.m. on June 19. Shearer was released on his own recognizance.

Trevor Smith, address unknown, made an initial appearance on a dog at large charge and a violation of rabies vaccination charge. He pleaded guilty to both charges and was fined $65 for each charge with a $22.75 surcharge on each and $60 in court costs for a total of $147.75 on each count. The court allowed for monthly installment payments of $50 beginning July 12 until the debt is paid.

Jennifer Charmaine Yakel, 18 E. Berle St., and Homeless, made an initial appearance on a sex offender registry violation charge. The public defender's office was appointed to handle her case. The preliminary hearing is set for 1 p.m. on June 24. Bond is set at $2,000 cash or surety.

On Thursday, Miguel Nunez-Corona, 501 N. Center St. Apt. #71, reported the theft of a 1986 Nissan 300ZX. Estimated value of loss was $2,500.

On Thursday, Joyce Ann Brown, 1710 S. Fourth St., reported the theft of a grey and orange antique model tractor from her residence. Estimated value of loss was $200.

On Wednesday, an employee with Verizon Wireless, 3109 S. Center St. Suite 101, reported the theft of a Samsung Galaxy S4 valued at $639.50.
