Opposes factory farm in Tama County

June 26, 2013
Dave McGowan, Gladbrook , Times-Republican

Steve Anderson, of Beaman, and Summit Farms, of Alden, want to build a factory farm that will house 4,400 head of hogs and more than 1.1 million gallons of manure annually. The factory farm would be on a dirt road which would be graveled and maintained at Tama County residents' expense.

If built, this factory farm will destroy air quality, water quality and property values for nearby residents, residents of Lincoln and the county as a whole. Steve Anderson and Summit Farms will be making money off the burden of Tama County residents.

We urge everyone who opposes this proposed facility to call Steve Anderson at 641-366-2127 and cancel the sale agreement with Summit Farms.
