DUNKERTON - The Dunkerton baseball team won its sixth straight Iowa Star Conference contest, scoring nine runs in the first inning of a 17-2, four-inning rout of GMG on Saturday.
The host Raiders (13-13, 10-4) added two runs in the third and finished off GMG with six runs in the fourth. Dunkerton pitcher Jason Bedard (3-4) limited the Wolverines to just two hits in the win.
Josh Raymond took the loss for GMG, allowing eight earned runs on three hits and five walks in the first inning. Noah Thurston pitched the remainder, striking out two and walking five.
Austin Vaughn was 1-for-2 with an RBI triple while Bridger Claassen was 1-for-2 with a double and a run scored for GMG's offensive highlights.
