Accidents

On Saturday, a car driven by Jeff Eurom, 1602 Elder Drive, was traveling north on South Center Street when in an attempt to pass a car driven by Austin Cody Brown, 511 W. State St. Apt. #2, it started to pull into the outside lane, spotted an oncoming vehicle, pulled back in and collided with the rear of the Brown car and then left the scene. No injuries were reported. Eurom was cited for damage to vehicle and driving while license is denied, cancelled, revoked or suspended. Damage to both vehicles was estimated at $1,000 each.

On Saturday, a car driven by Don M. Hornberg, 5 E. North St., was pulling into traffic in the 300 block of East Main Street from a parking spot when it collided with a vehicle driven by Linda Sue Baedke, 311 S. Second St. Apt. #2, which was traveling east. No injuries were reported. Hornberg was cited for failure to yield upon entering a through highway. Damage to the Hornberg car was estimated at $3,000 while the Baedke vehicle received an estimated $5,000 in damage.

On Friday, a car driven by Kimberly Marissa Brown, 2962 Twinkle Hill Road, was exiting a driveway at 1104 Summit St., and collided with a legally parked car. No injuries were reported. Brown was cited for no insurance. Damage to both vehicles was estimated at $1,500 each.

Kenneth Young, address unknown, made an initial appearance on a striking unattended vehicle charge. He pleaded guilty and was fined $65 with a $22.75 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $147.75, due within 30 days of today's date.

Christopher Patrick Denton, 607 E. Olive St. Apt. #4, made an initial appearance on a driving while revoked charge and a loud music from vehicle charge. The preliminary hearing is set for 1 p.m. July 29.

Maria Perez, address unknown, made an initial appearance on a driving under suspension charge. She pleaded guilty and was fined $250 with a $87.50 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $397.50, due within 30 days of today's date.

Anthony Hill, 19 1/2 S. Center St., made an initial appearance on a public consumption charge. He pleaded guilty and was fined $65 with a $22.75 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $147.75, due within 30 days of today's date.

Carol Ealy, 402 NewCastle Road, made an initial appearance on a trespass charge. She pleaded not guilty and a pre-trial conference is set for 9 a.m. Aug. 13 in Magistrate Court.

Brianna Holst, address unknown, made an initial appearance on a theft-fifth degree charge. She pleaded guilty and was given a deferred judgment. The fine was $65 with $60 in court costs for a total of $125. Holst was placed on unsupervised probation for a year.

John Hannam, 409 N. Second Ave., made an initial appearance on a trespass charge. He pleaded not guilty and a pre-trial conference is set for 9 a.m. Aug. 13 in Magistrate Court.

Molly June Gummert, 307 Sharon Ave., made an initial appearance on a theft-third degree charge. The public defender's office was appointed to handle her case. The preliminary hearing is set for 1 p.m. on July 29. Gummert was released with supervision and is to contact the adult probation office within 24 hours to make an appointment to sign a pre-trial release.

Don Jon Crawford, Homeless, made an initial appearance on a operating while intoxicated-first offense charge and a open container charge. The public defender's office was appointed to handle his cases. The preliminary hearing is set for 1 p.m. July 29. Crawford was released on his own recognizance. The court ordered him to obtain a substance abuse evaluation and submit the results to the court within 60 days of today's date.

Rogelio Gomez, address unknown, made an initial appearance on a possession of alcohol under legal age limit charge. He pleaded not guilty and a pre-trial conference is set for 9 a.m. Aug. 20 in Magistrate Court.

Roberto Javier Bermudez, 1302 E. Madison St., made an initial appearance on a serious domestic assault charge. The public defender's office was appointed to handle his case. The preliminary hearing is set for 1 p.m. July 29. Bermudez was released on his own recognizance. A no-contact order was issued for the protected party.
