DIKE - Dike-New Hartford's Carson Parker struck out nine and walked eight but still found a way to win after holding the North Tama baseball team to just three hits in a 3-1 win over the Redhawks on Wednesday.
Dalton Hulme surrendered six hits but did not give up an earned run as he was the tough-luck loser on the mound. He struck out six and walked two in the six-inning complete game.
The Wolverines plated two runs in the fourth and another in the fifth, while North Tama scored its only tally in the fifth.
Jacob Wrage had two of the three Redhawk hits and drove in Clayton Blocker for the only North Tama run. Caden Stuart had the other hit for the Redhawks (24-10). It was the third straight loss for North Tama.
Dike-New Hartford (15-12) tallied seven hits from seven different players in the win. Parker had a single and scored a run while also stealing a base.
North Tama hosts Denver tonight at 7:30 p.m.
