Tim and Angie Shibe, of Haverhill, are the parents of a son, Jake Allen Shibe, born at 6:03 a.m. May 20 weighing 9 pounds, 5 ounces and measuring 21 inches in length. Welcoming Jake home is big sister Ava and big brother Cael. Grandparents are Dean and Chris Vaughn, of Marshalltown, and Allen and Pat Shibe, of Albion.

Eric and Krystal Bell, of Webster City, are the parents of a daughter, Lydia Kay Bell, born May 6 at Van Diest Medical Center weighing 7 pounds, 12 ounces. Welcoming Lydia into the family are grandparents: Carmen and Kirby Hasselman, of Marshalltown; Walter and Chandra Bell, of Marshalltown; and Kevin and Rhonda Kanealy, of Perry; great-grandparents: the late Claudia Backhaus, George and Kay Bell, of Marshalltown; Donna Vokes, of Panora; Janet Kanealy, of Perry; and Caroll and Pat Ramsey, of Des Moines; and great-great grandmother, Virginia Slifer.

Jeremiaha Joe Harrelson, address unknown, made an initial appearance on two warrants for probation violation of two separate cases. The public defender's office was appointed to handle his cases. The probation revocation hearing will be scheduled by the District Court as its docket permits. Bond for each charge is set at $5,000 each cash or surety.

Jose Eduardo Gonzalez-Alcarez, 205 W. Boone St., made an initial appearance on a driving under suspension charge and a no driver's license charge. He pleaded guilty to both charges. On the driving under suspension charge the fine was $250 with a $87.50 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $397.50. The fine on the no driver's license charge was $200 with a $70 surcharge, a $5 county enforcement initiative surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $335. The court allowed for monthly installment payments beginning Aug. 9 until the debt is paid.

Tyson Alan Hinders, address unknown, made an initial appearance on a driving under suspension charge, a possession of a Schedule II controlled substance-meth charge and a speeding 70 in a 65 mph zone charge. The public defender's office was appointed to handle the possession of meth charge and a preliminary hearing is set for 1 p.m. July 31. Hinders was released on his own recognizance. The court ordered him to obtain a substance abuse evaluation and submit the results to the court within 60 days of today's date. On the driving under suspension and speeding charges, Hinders pleaded guilty. The fine on the driving under suspension charge was $250 with a $87.50 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $397.50. On the speeding charge was $20 with a $7 surcharge, a $5 county enforcement initiative surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $92. The court allowed monthly payments plans of $50 beginning Aug. 9 until the debt is paid.

Benito Fernandez, 701 E. Linn St., made an initial appearance on a driving under suspension charge, a no insurance charge and a no driver's license charge. He pleaded guilty to all charges. On the driving under suspension charge the fine was $250 with a $87.50 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $397.50. The fine on the no insurance charge was $250 with a $87.50 surcharge, a $5 county enforcement initiative surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $402.50. The fine on the no driver's license charge was $200 with a $70 surcharge, a $5 county enforcement initiative surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $335. Barry Bruce Evans, of Le Grand, made an initial appearance on a driving under suspension charge, a no driver's license charge and a no insurance charge. He pleaded not guilty to the no insurance charge and a pre-trial conference is set for 9 a.m. Aug. 20 in Magistrate Court. Evans pleaded guilty to the driving under suspension and no driver's license charges. The driving under suspension charge fine was $250 with a $87.50 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $397.50. The court allowed for monthly installment payments of $50 beginning Aug. 9 or in lieu of the fine and surcharge he may do 46 hours of community service plus pay the court costs to be completed by Jan. 15, 2014.

Jeff Eurom, 1603 Elder Drive, made an initial appearance on a driving under suspension charge and a damage to vehicle charge. He pleaded guilty on both charges. On the driving under suspension charge he was fined $250 with a $87.50 surcharge and $50 in court costs for a total of $397.50. The court allowed for monthly installment payments of $50 beginning Aug. 9 until the debt is paid or in lieu of the fine and surcharge he may do 46 hours of community service plus pay the court costs to be completed by Jan. 15, 2014. The fine on the damage to vehicle was $65 with a $22.75 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $147.75. The court allowed for the same monthly installment plan or in lieu of the fine and surcharge he may do 12 hours of community service plus pay the court costs to be completed by Jan. 15, 2014.

Terrance Williams, address unknown, made an initial appearance on a driving under suspension charge. He pleaded not guilty and a pre-trial conference is set for 9 a.m. Aug. 20 in Magistrate Court.

Kimberly Woosley, of Albion, made an initial appearance on a operation without registration charge and a failure to obey a stop sign/yield right of way charge. The pleaded not guilty and a pre-trial conference is set for 9 a.m. Aug. 20 in Magistrate Court. Woosley was released on her own recognizance.

Luis Ramirez, address unknown, made an initial appearance on a contempt of court for failure to complete a batterer's education program. The court appointed Jennifer Meyer to represent him in this case. The contempt hearing is set for 9 a.m. Aug. 30 in Magistrate Court. Ramirez was released on his own recognizance.

The Marshalltown Fire Department responded a rescue call at 1659 Marshalltown Blvd., four calls to: 1308 E. Madison St., 1501 S. 17th Ave., 2001 Skyline Drive, 202 N. Second Ave., three fire calls at: 1 W. Grant St., 9 S. Seventh St. and 112 W. State St. and eight medical assists at: 1508 Greenfield Drive, 1501 S. 17th Ave., 914 Finkle Ave., 2409 S. Sixth St., 2010 Bryngelson Drive, 1211 W. State St., 112 S. Second St. and 211 W. Church St.
