Mathew Irving, 536 N. First St., made an initial appearance on a murder-first degree charge. The public defender's office was appointed to handle his case. The preliminary hearing is set for 1 p.m. July 26. Bond is set at $1,000,000 cash only.

Richard Arnold Stevens, 607 Woodbury St., made an initial appearance on a driving under suspension charge. He pleaded guilty and was fined $250 with a $87.50 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $397.50. The court allowed for monthly installment payments of $50 beginning Aug. 15 until the debt is paid.

Sabir Martin Mamor, 206 S. Third Ave. Apt. #3, made an initial appearance on a probation revocation charge. A continuance on the initial appearance was requested and it was rescheduled for 9 a.m. July 23.

Grundy County Sheriff's Office

Arrests

On July 5, Cory Snyder, 24, of Voorhies, was arrested by the Grundy County Sheriff's Office on a on a Iowa County warrant charging him with failure to appear. He was released to Iowa County authorities.

On July 6, Wesley Strohbehn, 23, of Reinbeck, was arrested by the Grundy County Sheriff's Office on a Hardin County warrant charging him with driving while license is suspended. He was released to the Hardin County authorities.

On July 10, Steven Ralls, 27, of Grundy Center, was arrested by the Grundy Center Police Department on a Marshall County warrant charging him with probation violation. He was released to Marshall County authorities.

On Friday,Ginger Dales, 43, of Aplington, was arrested by Butler County authorities on a Grundy County warrant charging her with failure to appear. Dales was released on a promise to appear.

On Sunday, Michael Coverdale, 44, of Cedar Rapids, was arrested by Cedar Rapids Police Department on a Grundy County warrant charging him with theft second degree. He is being held in lieu of bond.

On Tuesday, Tanner Haugh, 17, of Nashua, was arrested Grundy County Sheriff's Office at the Waterloo Residential Facility on a Grundy County warrant charging him with probation violation. Haugh is being held in lieu of bond.

On Tuesday, Colton Wersinger, 20, of Wellsburg, was arrested by the Grundy County Sheriff's Office in Reinbeck on a Grundy County warrant charging him with two counts driving while license suspended, no registration, failure to maintain control and failure to report an accident. He posted bond and was released.

On Tuesday, Jonathan Nemmers, 23, of Reinbeck, was arrested by the Jesup Police Departments on a Grundy County warrant charging him with pre-trial violation. He is being held in lieu of bond.

On Wednesday, Heather Warren, 34, of Gladbrook, was arrested by the Grundy County Sheriff's Office on 270th Street east of H Avenue charged with an OWI. She posted bond and was released.

Accidents

On July 3, a car driven by Claire Schroeder, 80, of Grundy Center, was westbound on Highway 175 east of Grundy Center when it struck a deer that entered the roadway. Damage to the Schroeder car was estimated at $1,525.

On July 5, a car driven by Krista Cooper, 39, of Conrad, was on D-55 east of Hawk Avenue when it struck a deer that entered the roadway. Damage to the Cooper car was estimated at $1,501.

On July 8, a semi driven by Randy Gehrke, 61, of Sumner, was southbound on H Avenue when the driver tried to turn around in a farm drive. While turning around the rear wheels of the trailer dropped off in the ditch causing the tractor/trailer to roll onto its side. Damage to the Gehrke semi was estimated at $10,000.
