Gas engines, tractors and other old-time farm equipment will soon be on their way in droves to Marshall County for the annual Mid-Iowa Antique Power Show.

The show is Aug 2-4 on the grounds of the Marshall County Sheriff's Office, located eight miles west of Marshalltown along Highway 30.

Aside from the displays, there are also threshing demonstrations, horses and a wide range of other work that shows how farms operated several decades ago.

There will be tractors galore when the Mid-Iowa Antique Power Show returns to the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office grounds Aug. 2-4.

"We have a lot going on," said Don Peck, one of the organizers of the annual show that started in the 1980s. "It adds up to a really nice old-time threshing show."

For the older crowd, the show brings back memories. For the younger crowd, the show serves as a history lesson.

"It's important to the whole community, young and old, to learn about history and to enjoy it," Peck said.
