IOWA CITY - The national attendance leader seven years running has released its schedule.
The University of Iowa wrestling team will have seven home dates and make a return appearance in the Ken Kraft Midlands Championships.
The scheduled was released Monday and the Hawkeyes kick off their season Nov. 22 when they host the Iowa City Duals at Carver-Hawkeye Arena. The rest of the field includes Baker University, Cornell College and Iowa Central Community College.
The first dual of the season will come Dec. 1 in Ames against instate rival Iowa State as part of the Iowa Corn Cy-Hawk Series. That is followed by a road dual with Edinboro on Dec. 5.
The Hawkeyes' official home dual opener will be against Buffalo on Dec. 12 and Iowa also will face Michigan State (Jan. 5), Oklahoma State (Jan. 10), Indiana (Jan. 12), Minnesota (Jan. 26) and Michigan (Feb. 9) inside Carver-Hawkeye Arena.
Iowa will not face three-time defending national champion Penn State in dual action, but other Big Ten road foes include Nebraska, Northwestern and Wisconsin as well as a non-conference roadie with Lehigh.
One of the fans' favorite events is the Ken Kraft Midlands Championships on the campus of Northwestern University. Iowa will return to that event after a short hiatus. The Wildcats will host that invitational on Dec. 29-30.
All start times for the season will be announced at a later date. The Hawkeyes also will open the season Nov. 15 at a tournament yet to be determined.
