Karen Mae Bousum Antle, 72, a resident of Melbourne, IA, passed away Wednesday, August 14, 2013 at her home. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, August 17, 2013 at the Main St. Chapel of the Anderson Funeral Homes, in Marshalltown, IA. Karen was born November 8, 1940 in Marshalltown to L. Robert and E. Jean Bousum. She was a 1958 graduate of Cedar Falls High School, in Cedar Falls, IA. She was united in marriage to Gary Schuler in 1960. She later married Harold Antle in February of 1975. Karen worked in the Abstract office of Marshall County and also for various other offices in Marshalltown. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, the Morning Optimists, the Xi Delta Chi chapter of Beta Sigma Phi, the Canasta Club, the Thursday 5 Handed Club, Trinity Lutheran Church, in Marshalltown and was a Board Member of Primary Health Care. She enjoyed quilting and needlework.
She will be missed by her siblings, Carrol (Phillip) Myrkle of Appleton, WI, Connie (Larry) Pemberton of New Providence, IA, Curt (Julie) Bousum of Marshalltown, IA and David (Teresa) Bousum of Overland Park, KS; her sister-in-law, Mary Jane Bousum; 7 nieces; 7 nephews, 9 grand-nieces; 13 grand-nephews; a great-grand -nephew and her aunts, Bette Etter of Marshalltown and Gwen Johnson of Santee, CA. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Gary Bousum; her first husband, Gary Schuler; many aunts and uncles; a nephew and a great-niece.
