The high school baseball season is long since over, but the postseason accolades continue to pile up for a trio of area seniors.
West Marshall's Jared Riemenschneider and the North Tama duo of Jacob Wrage and Dalton Hulme were honored as a part of the Iowa High School Baseball Coaches Association's all-state teams, the IHSBCA announced this week.
Riemenschneider and Wrage both were named to their respective first team, while Hulme was a second-team honoree by the coaches. It's the first IHSBCA all-state selection for each of them.
Riemenschneider was selected as the first-team shortstop in Class 2A after leading West Marshall to an NICL West Division championship while earning the conference's Most Outstanding Player award. He hit .453 with three homers and 19 RBIs and was 6-0 on the mound with a 1.41 earned run average.
Wrage was chosen as one of two first-team catchers in Class 1A after hitting a team-best .441 with 47 runs scored, 16 doubles, 40 RBIs and 27 stolen bases. Hulme was a second-team outfield selection in 1A after batting .359 with 39 runs, 11 doubles, a homer and 32 RBIs. He also was the team's pitching ace, going 6-2 with a 1.33 ERA.
Iowa City West second baseman Reid Bonner was named the Pro-Line/IHSBCA Player of the Year. He led the Trojans with a .410 batting average, 45 RBIs and 29 stolen bases, and will play collegiately at DMACC next year.
David Flattery of Fort Dodge St. Edmond was the recipient of the Lanny Peterson All-Academic Award.
