Tuesday

Jason Arringdale, 615 W. State St., made an initial appearance on a warrant for a theft-fifth degree charge. He pleaded guilty and was fined $65 with a $22.75 surcharge, a $125 law enforcement initiative surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $272.75, plus restitution if applicable and a charge for serving the warrant. The court allowed for monthly installment payments of $50 beginning Sept. 18 until the debt is paid in full.

Derek James Slocum, address unknown, made an initial appearance on a failure to appear for sentencing hearing charge and a sex offender registry violation charge. On the failure to appear for sentencing the public defender's office will continue as counsel. The sentencing hearing will be rescheduled by the District Court as its docket permits. Bond is set at $10,000 cash only. On the sex offender registry violation the public defender's office was appointed to handle his case. The preliminary hearing is set for 1 p.m. on Aug. 30. Bond is set at $5,000 cash or surety.

Benjamin Olsen, address unknown, made an initial appearance on a driving under suspension charge and a operation without registration charge. He pleaded guilty to both charges. On the driving under suspension charge the fine is $250 with a $87.50 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $397.50, due within 30 days of today's date. The fine on the operation without registration is $100 with a $35 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $195, due within 30 days of today's date.

Brad Edwards, address unknown, made an initial appearance on a failure to comply with vicious animal procedures charge. He pleaded guilty and the state recommended the maximum fine of $100 with a $35 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $195. The fine was suspended and Edwards was placed on probation for a period of two months with the conditions that in this time frame he meet all the requirements for having a vicious animal or if he chooses to put the animal down that he file all the necessary documentation with the clerk of court. The fine will be re-instituted at the end of two months if nothing is accomplished.

Kathy J. Seelye, of Ferguson, made an initial appearance on a dog at large charge. She pleaded guilty and was fined $65 with a $22.75 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $147.75, due within 30 days of today's date.

Lorrie Hagge, address unknown, made an initial appearance on a rabies vaccination violation charge. She pleaded guilty and was fined $65 with a $22.75 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $147.75, due within 30 days of today's date.

Aaron Michael Jones, address unknown, made an initial appearance on a driving under suspension charge. He pleaded guilty and was fined $250 with a $87.50 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $397.50, due within 30 days of today's date.

Antonio Banderas, address unknown, made an initial appearance on a dog at large charge. He pleaded guilty and was fined $100 with a $35 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $195, due within 30 days of today's date.

Denis Trehey, address unknown, made an initial appearance on a harassment-third degree charge. He pleaded not guilty and a pre-trial conference is set for 9 a.m. on Sept. 17 in Magistrate Court. Attorney Jeff Hazen was appointed as counsel.

Arrests

On Saturday, Arturo Alonso Rico, 703 Jackson St., was arrested for identity theft, forgery and theft-fifth degree.

On Saturday, Francisco Jerardo Mancinas, of Tama, was arrested for public intoxication.

On Friday, Lance Mandell Walker, 1503 Summit St., was arrested for three counts of theft-third degree.

Accidents

On Saturday, a car driven by Trevor Michael Cullor, of Grundy Center, was northbound in a private driveway at 1918 Marble Road, when it failed to stop at the entrance of the driveway, crossed Marble Road and entered directly into the north ditch where it came to a stop. Passenger Kayla Elizabeth Albee, of Grundy Center, was transported to Marshalltown Medical & Surgical Center with injuries. Cullor was cited for failure to maintain control, failure to prove security against liability and operating while intoxicated-first offense. Damage to the Cullor car was estimated at $2,000.

Incidents

On Monday, an employee with Walmart, 2802 S. Center St., reported the theft of a black back pack, three Magic playing cards and a Lex 4 GB thumb drive from the store valued at $207.70.

On Aug. 7, April Forbes, 408 N. 17th St., reported the theft of a gold wedding ring and a ring with a silver cross. Estimated value of loss was $632.15.

Arrests

On Monday, Austin Gregory Moser, Homeless, was arrested for shoplifting, trespass and possession of drug paraphernalia.

On Monday, Pudoli Mendoza Gonzalez, 2015 Skyline Drive, was arrested for operating while intoxicated-second offense and driving while revoked.

On Monday, Marcos Eduardo Perez Sanchez, 209 N. 10th Ave., was arrested for domestic abuse with bodily injuries and child endangerment.

The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to a fire call to 508 S. Fifth St., and five medical assists with the EMS crew to: 504 N. Fifth St., 1013 S. 10th Ave., 303 S. Fourth Ave., and two calls to 1 W. Grant St.

The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to a call to 902 S. Center St., 311 W. Nevada St., 909 Prairie Lane, a fire call to 2206 S. Third Ave., a rescue call to 1308 E. Olive St., and five medical assists with the EMS crew to: 1517 W. Church St., 13 Iowa Ave., 36 N. Center St., 405 N. First St., and 9 S. Seventh St.

The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to a rescue call to 1918 Marble Road, a medical assist with the EMS crew to 402 N. 10th Ave., and a fire call to 209 Harmony Drive.

Sunday

The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to four medical assists with the EMS crew to: 1005 W. Lincoln Way, 910 E. Olive St., 206 Nicholas Drive, and 3001 S.
