Working together to improve Marshalltown schools

September 11, 2013
Inside Education — Marvin Wade , Times-Republican

The board and employees of Marshalltown Community School District are encouraged by recent improvements in attendance, achievement, graduation and suspension/expulsion rates. We are pleased by the many accomplishments of the past year, including preschool classrooms in all six elementary schools, implementation of Project Lead the Way at Miller Middle School, Net High as a program option for students at-risk of not graduating, Breakfast in the Classroom at every elementary, completed construction at several sites and a positive report following the Iowa Department of Education's site visit. The district is grateful for the many partners who contribute to Not in Our Town, Spread the Words Read by Third, Marshalltown Business-Education Alliance, Marshalltown Education Partnership and other efforts that significantly benefit our children and youth.
