A man suspected of shooting a Marshalltown teenager in the head last week is being held on a $500,000 bond.
Daniel Lott, 32, was arrested late Saturday night in Gladbrook after a tip was provided to police about his whereabouts. Lott had been at large after a warrant was issued for his arrest Friday.
Police suspect Lott shot Mario G. Murrillo, 17, as he was trying to run away from him.
According to court documents, Murrillo said he was shot in an alley north of the 600 block of West State Street. Lott allegedly came from around the corner of the garage and shot him in the head as he was trying to flee.
Murillo sought treatment for a gunshot wound at the local emergency room. He is expected to make a full recovery.
Murrillo identified Lott as the shooter in a photo lineup, according to court documents.
Lott made an initial court appearance Sunday. He was appointed a public defender. A preliminary court hearing is set for Sept. 25
