Jana Marie Perry, of Cedar Rapids, made an initial appearance on a operating while intoxicated-first offense charge and a striking unattended vehicle charge. The public defender's office was appointed to handle her case. The preliminary hearing is set for 1 p.m. on Nov. 1. Perry was released on her own recognizance. The court ordered as a condition of release that she be photographed and fingerprinted. It was further ordered that Perry obtain a substance abuse evaluation and submit the results to the court within 60 days of today's date.

James Joseph Harris, address unknown, made an initial appearance on two counts of a harassment by telephone charge and a trespass charge. He pleaded not guilty to all charges. Harris will hire his own counsel. A pre-trial conference is set for 9 a.m. on Nov. 19 in Magistrate Court. Harris was released on his own recognizance. The court ordered that if he owned or possessed any firearms or ammunition, Harris is to contact the Marshall County Sheriff's Office within 24 hours to make arrangements to surrender them. A no-contact order was issued for the protected party.

Jorge Yanes Flores, address unknown, made an initial appearance through an interpreter on a warrant for pre-trial violation. Jennifer Meyers will continue as counsel. An arraignment hearing is scheduled for 1 p.m. on Oct. 24. Bond is set at $2,000 cash or surety. An Immigration and Customs Enforcement hold has been placed on Yanes Flores.

Brandon Armstrong, 7 E. High St., made an initial appearance on a possession of a controlled substance charge. The public defender's office was appointed to handle his case. The preliminary hearing is set for 1 p.m. on Oct. 22. Bond is set at $1,000.

Nge Htway, 1407 E. Nevada St., made an initial appearance on a domestic assault charge, a possession of contraband charge and a possession of a Schedule I controlled substance charge. The public defender's office was appointed to handle his case. The preliminary hearing is set for 1 p.m. on Oct. 22. Bond is set at $5,000 cash or surety.

Jonathan Scott Arterburn, 406 Melody Lane Apt. #1, made an initial appearance on a probation violation charge. The probation revocation hearing is set for 10:30 a.m. on Nov. 12.

Deven Ray Spinks, 119 E. State St. Apt. #4, made an initial appearance on three counts of probation violation. The public defender's office was appointed to handle his case. The probation revocation hearing is set for 3:15 p.m. on Oct. 30. Spinks is being held without bond.

Juan Roy Lizarde, of Whitten, made an initial appearance on a driving while barred charge. The public defender's office was appointed to handle his case. The preliminary hearing is set for 1 p.m. on Nov. 1. Lizarde was released on his own recognizance.

Bryce Brandon Quastad, address unknown, made an initial appearance on a driving under suspension charge and a operating a non-registered vehicle charge. He pleaded not guilty to both charges. A pre-trial conference is set for 9 a.m. on Nov. 26 in Magistrate Court.
