STATE CENTER - West Marshall senior Nathan Bradley set the course record in leading the Trojans to a second-place finish at their own four-team invitational on Thursday night at Lincoln Valley Golf Course.
Bradley won the boys' race in a time of 16 minutes, 59 seconds, breaking the record previously held by Andrew Miller of Jefferson-Scranton.
CMB took the team title with 38 points, holding off West Marshall (47), Greene County (62) and Colo-NESCO (81).
For the Trojans, Austin Grimm placed sixth in 18:33, while Cody Berns was 10th in 19:05. Garrett Nichols took 13th in 19:32 and Joel Phelps completed the team scoring in 17th place (20:26).
Colo-NESCO got a 4-5 finish from Jordan Combes (18:00) and Steven Cutler (18:31). Elliot Morgan was next across for the Royals in 23rd (21:49), followed by Kyle Miller in 25th (22:14) and Caleb Vaughn in 28th (23:06).
Greene County's girls captured the first four spots - and five of the top seven - to place first with just 17 points. CMB claimed second with 40 points, West Marshall (74) was third and Colo-NESCO (109) came in fourth.
West Marshall's Allison Hilleman was the top area finisher, scoring 10th in 18:33. Maggie Sodders (18:55) and Madie Streeter (19:10) were 13th and 14th, respectively, while Emma Kielman (19:25) and Mariah Norton (20:07) came in 18th and 19th.
Grace Stalzer scored 16th to lead Colo-NESCO, clocking in at 19:15. Angela Brinkman was next to cross for the Royals, finishing 21st (20:13). Stephanie Norris (23rd, 20:57), Caitlin Clark (24th, 21:00) and Leah Vincent (25th, 21:08) rounded out the team scoring.
