Mike and Jodi Clement, of Ames, are the parents of a son, Kyle Michael Clement, born on Aug. 1 at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames weighing 6 pounds, .5 ounces and measuring 19 inches in length. Grandparents are Rick and Shirley Clement, of Marshalltown, and Gary and Shirley Malin, of Oskaloosa. Great grandparents are Bill and Betty Allgood, of Oskaloosa.

Matt and Elizabeth Crandon, of Le Grand, are the parents of a daughter, Alexis Jeanne Crandon, born at 10:23 p.m. on Oct. 21 at Marshalltown Medical & Surgical Center. Alexis is being welcomed home by her big brother, Austin. Grandparents are Mike and Diane Ward, of Gilman, and Bob Crandon and the late Candy Crandon, of Le Grand. Great grandparents are Jim and Doris Doyle, of Tama, and Neven and Enid Crandon, of Gilman.

Man, 11 year old charged with burglary

A local man and an 11-year-old boy were arrested Thursday after allegedly breaking in a house.

Tyler Bounmy, 20, was arrested around midnight on the Third Avenue Viaduct, after he and the juvenile were found with more than $3,000 worth of stolen property.

According to police, Bounmy and the young boy were walking down the viaduct carrying a large suitcase and duffle bag when an officer spotted them.

As officers were searching them, they found women's clothing, jewelry, X-Box games and a computer they allegedly stole from a house on the 1000 block of Anson Street.

Bounmy is charged with third-degree burglary, a Class D felony, using a minor to commit the burglary, a Class C felony, and interference with official acts for providing a false name.

Bounmy was also wanted on warrants in Humboldt and Webster counties.

Bounmy and the juvenile were both taken into custody.

Man punches girlfriend, receives additional charges

A local man was given multiple charges after he allegedly assaulted his girlfriend, damaged her house and violated a no contact order from jail.

Edward Stokes Jr., 18, was arrested at 7 a.m. Thursday on the 600 block of Jerome St., after he allegedly punched his girlfriend in the face. He then broke a window in the home and fled.

Officers were contacted by his girlfriend and found him nearby her house. He was arrested and charged with serious domestic assault, criminal mischief and was given a no contact order, then was sent to jail.

Friday while Stokes was in jail he called his girlfriend. She contacted police, the jail validated he violated the no contact order and he was given an additional charge for the violation.

Dumpster diver arrested on multiple charges

An intoxicated man was arrested Wednesday night after police found him in a dumpster.

Jeffery Allen Pepe, 48, of Marshalltown was arrested on the 100 block of West Madison Street, after he was found in a dumpster by a patrolling officer.

Pepe was charged with public intoxication, possession of drug paraphernalia and child endangerment. Police said he left his 10-year-old daughter home alone that night.
