One game into the season, the Marshalltown Community College women's basketball team has two players on the receiving end of weekly awards.

The Iowa Community College Athletic Conference honored MCC freshman guard Jasmine Howe as the Offensive Player of the Week and Tiger sophomore post Mackenzie Gott as its Defensive Player of the Week.

Howe made her collegiate debut with team-highs of 23 points and 11 rebounds in Saturday's season-opening home win over Metropolitan CC-Penn Valley. Howe made three of her four 3-pointers on her way to 14 points in the first half, while also contributing four assists and three steals.

Gott played just 14 minutes in the second half but tallied a double-double of 11 points and 10 rebounds in the win.

The MCC women return to action tonight, hosting the Grand View University junior varsity squad at 7 p.m. at the Student Activity Center.
