Women arrested for solicitation, prostitution

A Marshalltown woman who allegedly offered sex acts for money to a passerby has been arrested.

Brandi M. Stiles, 34, was arrested Sunday evening after police received a call from a man who was walking along a sidewalk reported he was approached by Stiles near Fourth and Madison Street.

She was found drinking at the Alpine Laundromat, 808 S. Sixth St., where officers charged her with solicitation and prostitution, both aggravated misdemeanors and an open container, a simple misdemeanor.

Arrests

On Monday, Skoky Gene Strohm, of Albion, was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia and driving while barred.

On Sunday, Lin Aung, of Des Moines, was arrested for operating while intoxicated-second offense.

On Sunday, Tut Moang, 304 N. Third Ave. (Upstairs), was arrested for public intoxication.

On Sunday, Tut Maleam, address unknown, was arrested for public intoxication.

On Saturday, Bawi Lian, 106 S. Second St., was arrested for operating while intoxicated-second offense.

On Saturday, Dustin Dean Umbaugh, of State Center, was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia.

On Friday, Javier Avina Garcia, 419 Union St., was arrested for public intoxication.

On Friday, Kimberly Kay Wall, 8 S. Fifth Ave. Apt. #4, was arrested for driving under the influence.

On Thursday, Tahchelle Thomas, 901 W. Nevada St., was arrested for aggravated domestic assault.

On Monday, Glenda Roberts, of Tama, was arrested for public intoxication.

On Monday, Victor R. Quintanilla-Gonzalez, 11 N. Ninth St., was arrested for interference with official acts, driving while barred and operating while intoxicated-third offense.

Incidents

On Monday, Lea Ann Falk, 1959 Wallace Ave., reported for a citizen, tire damage to a Ford Focus while parked at 211 W. Church St. Estimated value of damage was $215.

Accidents

On Friday, a pickup driven by Jerry Dean Witte, of State Center, was eastbound on West Madison Street approaching the intersection with South Third Avenue when, due to faulty brakes, it collided with the rear of a minivan driven by Steven Ray Sichra, 502 N. 12th Ave. Apt. #10, which was stopped at the intersection. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Witte pickup was estimated at $800 while the Sichra minivan received an estimated $2,000 in damage.

Ryan Mark Biensen, 528 N. First St. Apt. #2, made an initial appearance on a serious domestic assault charge. The public defender's office was appointed to handle his case. The preliminary hearing is set for 1 p.m. on Nov. 22. Bond is set at $1,000 cash or surety. A no-contact order was issued for the protected party.

Mario F. Castellanos, 604 W. Boone St., made an initial appearance on a driving while barred charge. The public defender's office was appointed to handle his case. The preliminary hearing is set for 1 p.m. on Dec. 2. Castellanos was released on his own recognizance.

Carolyn Louisa Anderson, address unknown, made an initial appearance on a overtime parking charge. She pleaded not guilty and a pre-trial conference is set for 9 a.m. on Dec. 3 in Magistrate Court.

Janel Westcott, address unknown, made an initial appearance on a identity theft charge. The public defender's office was appointed to handle her case. The preliminary hearing is set 1 p.m. on Dec. 2. Bond will continue as posted.

Joseph Witte, 911 W. State St., made an initial appearance on a driving while barred charge. The preliminary hearing is set for 1 p.m. on Dec. 2. Witte was released on his own recognizance.

Marshon Dubbert, of Windsor Heights, Des Moines, made an initial appearance on a parking violation charge. He pleaded not guilty and a pre-trial conference is set for 9 a.m. on Dec. 3 in Magistrate Court.

William Craft, address unknown, made an initial appearance on a overweight trucking charge. He pleaded not guilty and a pre-trial conference is set for 9 a.m. on Dec. 3 in Magistrate Court.

Kimberly Kay Wall, 8 S. Fifth Ave. Apt. #4, made an initial appearance on a operating while intoxicated-second offense charge, a driving while license is denied, cancelled, revoked or suspended charge and a failure to maintain control charge. The preliminary hearing is set for 1 p.m. on Dec. 2. Wall was released on her own recognizance. The court ordered that she obtain a substance abuse evaluation and submit the results to the court within 60 days of today's date.

Jeff Hood, address unknown, made an initial appearance on a dog at large charge. He pleaded guilty and was fined $25 with a $7 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $92, due within 30 days of today's date.

Katie Warnell, 702 W. Main St. (Half), made an initial appearance on a theft-fifth degree charge. She pleaded not guilty and a pre-trial conference is set for 9 a.m. on Dec. 3 in Magistrate Court. The court appointed Merrill Swartz as counsel.

Brady Alan Arment, 2829 160th St., made an initial appearance through counsel, Barry Kaplan, on a driving while license is denied, cancelled, revoked or suspended charge. Counsel waived the preliminary hearing.
