Man assaults his child's mother

A local man was arrested after he allegedly hit his girlfriend, the mother of his newborn child, on the head and arms.

Ryan M. Biesen, 30, was arrested Monday after police were called to an apartment the 500 block of N. First St., at about 1 p.m. for a domestic assault.

According to police, once they arrived to the apartment Biesen was not home. Biesen's girlfriend had bruising on her hands from the alleged incident. She said they were arguing and the argument escalated to the assault.

Officers left, then returned when Biesen came back. They took Biesen into custody and he was charged for serious domestic assault, a serious misdemeanor.
