Fresh off its 77-70 win over then-No. 7 Michigan at Hilton Coliseum, the Iowa State men's basketball team cracked The Associated Press Top 25 Monday, coming into the poll at No. 21.

The Cyclones are 3-0 after Sunday's upset victory over the Wolverines and are in the AP national rankings for the first time since 2011-12.

Also cracking a top 25 Monday was the 4-0 Iowa men's basketball team. The Hawkeyes are sitting 25th in the USA Today/Coaches Poll after their easy win over Abilene Christian on Sunday.

Iowa's wins have come by an average of nearly 40 points per game. The Hawkeyes, ranked for the first time since 2006, have scored 100-plus points in two straight.

Iowa State's ranking is its highest since the 2000-01 season. The Cyclones travel to Provo, Utah, to face BYU on Wednesday.

Iowa came within 22 votes of being ranked in the AP top 25. The Hawkeyes return to action Friday when they take on Fran McCaffery's alma mater, Penn. Tip-off from Carver-Hawkeye Arena is slated for 6 p.m.
