AMES - Iowa State senior guard DeAndre Kane was recognized Monday as the Big 12 Newcomer of the Week for the second time this season after his performance against BYU Wednesday.

Kane posted his second double-double of the season as the Cyclones won at BYU, 90-88, handing the Cougars just their 12th home loss in the past 132 games.

The Marshall transfer finished with 21 points and tied his career-high with 11 rebounds, adding three assists and two steals. He shot 60 percent (9-of-15) from the field and has been in double figures in all four games this year while shooting 57.5 percent.

Kane's award is the fourth for the Cyclones in the season's first three weeks. Melvin Ejim and Naz Long have earned player of the week nods this season.
