Arrests

On Nov. 19, Thomas Schutte, age 20, of Reinbeck, was arrested in Reinbeck and charged with theft-fourth degree. He was released on promise to appear.

On Nov. 18, Nicole Watson, age 31, of Grundy Center, was arrested for domestic abuse assault. She was released on promise to appear.

On Nov. 18, Ricky Sigler, age 33, of Grundy Center, was arrested for domestic abuse assault. He posted bond and was released.

On Nov. 15, Michael Anderson, age 37, of Grundy Center, was arrested at the Sheriff's Office on a Grundy County warrant charging him with failure to appear. He posted bond and was released.

On Nov. 14, Henry Segovia, age 31, of Conrad, was arrested at the Sheriff's Office on a Grundy County warrant charging him with probation violation. Segovia is being held in lieu of bond.

Jorge Jimenez, age 33, of Arlington Heights, Ill., was arrested on Highway 20 and charged with operating while intoxicated-second offense. He is being held in lieu of bond.

Accidents

On Nov. 20, a car driven by Sandra Widdel, age 50, of Reinbeck, was eastbound on Highway 175 when it struck a deer that entered the roadway. Damage to the Widdel car was estimated at $4,500.

On Nov. 19, a car driven by Scott Vavroch, age 41, of Gladbrook, was southbound on Q Avenue north of 280th Street when it swerved to miss a deer that entered the roadway, entered the east ditch and struck a driveway. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Vavroch car was estimated at $3,200.

On Nov. 17, a car driven by Nicholas Itzen, age 20, of Grundy Center, was eastbound on Highway 175 when it struck a deer that entered the roadway. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Itzen car was estimated at $2,000.

On Nov. 15, a car driven by Pamela Biretz, age 37, of Marshalltown, had pulled over to the east side of Blackhawk Street heading south and attempted to make a left turn across traffic and collided with a vehicle driven by George Schildroth, age 82, of Reinbeck, which was traveling south on Blackhawk Street. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Biretz car was estimated at $4,000 while the Schildroth vehicle received an estimated $1,500 in damage.

On Nov. 13, a vehicle driven by Robert Morck, age 66, of Aplington, was westbound on Highway 57 at X Avenue when a deer entered the roadway and was struck. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Morck vehicle was estimated at $3,000.

On Nov. 11, a vehicle driven by Wayne Wrich, age 59, of Aplington, was eastbound on D-17 west of G Avenue when a deer entered the roadway and was struck. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Wrich vehicle was estimated at $4,000.

Tyler Jay Pollock, address unknown, made an initial appearance on a harassment-first degree charge and a carrying weapons charge. The public defender's office was appointed to handle his case. The preliminary hearing is set for 1 p.m. on Dec. 6. bond is set at $2,000 cash only. A no-contact order was issued for the protected party. The court ordered that if he owned or possessed any firearms or ammunition, Pollock was to contact the Marshall County Sheriff's Office within 24 hours to make arrangements to surrender them.

Matthew Scott Bodie, of State Center, made an initial appearance on a theft-fourth degree charge and a unauthorized use of a credit card charge. The preliminary hearing is set for 1 p.m. on Dec. 16. Bond will continue as posted pending the preliminary hearing.

Christina Althaus, address unknown, made an initial appearance on a serious assault charge and a obstructing emergency communications charge. The preliminary hearing is set for 1 p.m. on Dec. 16. Althaus was released on her own recognizance. A no-contact order was issued for the protected party.

Miranda Oden, address unknown, made an initial appearance on a serious assault causing bodily injury charge. The public defender's office was appointed to handle her case. The preliminary hearing is set for 1 p.m. on Dec. 16. Bond will continue as posted until the conclusion of this case. A no-contact order was issued for the protected party.

Christine Alman, 3202 S. 12th St. Lot #41, made an initial appearance on a striking an unattended vehicle and leaving the scene without giving information. She pleaded guilty and was fined $65 with a $22.75 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $147.75. The court allowed for monthly installment payments of $50 beginning Dec. 26 until the debt is paid in full or in lieu of the fine and surcharge she may do 12 hours of community service plus pay court costs to be completed by March 31, 2014.

Ronald Lee Daniel, address unknown, made an initial appearance on a theft-fifth degree charge. He pleaded guilty and was fined $65 with a $22.75 surcharge, a $125 law enforcement initiative surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $272.75. The court allowed for monthly installment payments of $50 beginning Dec. 26 until the debt is paid in full.
