FREEPORT, Ill. - The Marshalltown Community College men's basketball team turned the tables on Augustana College in the second half, rallying for a 71-59 win in the opening round of the Baymont Inn Classic on Saturday afternoon.

The Tigers, riding a three-game winning streak, will meet the tournament hosts from Highland Community College in today's 3 p.m. championship game. The Cougars (6-3) are coached by former MCC assistant Nathan Courtney.

Marshalltown (6-4) trailed 35-28 at the half but outscored Augustana 43-24 in the second half for the double-digit win. Jamal Gatali made a season-high three 3-pointers in the second half and shared the Tigers' team lead with Tyrese Hoxter with 12 points.

Troidell Carter and Merdic Green both scored 10 points for MCC.
