Helen Lorraine Head

Helen Lorraine Head entered the presence of the Lord on Saturday, December 28, 2013 at Villa del Sol in Marshalltown. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 31, 2013, at the Main St. Chapel of the Anderson Funeral Homes in Marshalltown. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., on Monday, December 30, 2013, at the Main St. Chapel. Interment will follow at Garwin Cemetery. Online condolences may be sent to www.andersonfhs.com.

Helen was born December 6, 1928 in Dysart, Iowa at the home of her grandparents, Andrew and Anne Paton. She is the daughter of the late Homer Paton and Blanche (England) Kienzle. Helen's father, Homer Paton was killed in a tragic accident when his model T car was hit by a train on November 4, 1929. She is preceded in death by one sister, Mary Boldt.

Helen has been a homemaker in Garwin and recently Marshalltown. She was very devoted to her children and grandchildren. Also, she especially enjoying cooking and baking.

She is a member of the Alice Church of God of Conrad, Iowa and cherished their love and support.

Helen is survived by three daughters, Mary Helen Prow of Terrell, Texas, Elizabeth Gray of Pesotum, Illinois and Barbara Eggers of Gladbrook, Iowa; two sisters, Barbara Dedic of Traer, Iowa, Betty Gibson of Raymond, Iowa and one brother Rex Hagedorn of Chicago, Illinois; six grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter.
