"We were set up about as good as we could be," GMG coach Justin Hornberg said. "We put them in the 1-and-1 with one minute left in the game. We missed some easy buckets down the stretch, but we are still growing as a team."
The Warriors jumped out to a 16-7 lead in the first quarter but had to scramble late to collect their third win of the year. In the end though, Meskwaki (3-4, 2-3) escaped despite shooting just 5-of-15 from the foul line.
"It's good to win one coming off break. It was good to get a win in our pocket," said Meskwaki coach Heath Brown. "The ball just bounced our way late."
