PREP HOOPS: Balanced West Marshall attack takes down Gilbert

STATE CENTER - Duncan Ferch led West Marshall with 13 points, nine rebounds and three assists as the Trojans charted their fourth win in a row, 59-46, over Gilbert Saturday.

Trenton Keislar had 12 points, Matt Van Metre added 11 points and Elijah Streeter 10. Nick Juel chipped in eight points and Reggie Gradwell added five points for the Trojans (8-2).

Jared Gescheidler led Gilbert (4-5) with 14 points and Wes Greder had 13.

Gladbrook-Reinbeck 73, Don Bosco 51

REINBECK - Gladbrook-Reinbeck erased a five-point halftime deficit with a 29-point third quarter, and the Rebels outscored Don Bosco 47-20 in the second half of a non-conference win Saturday night.

Camden Kickbush scored a game-high 21 points to lead G-R (6-1). Joe Smoldt tallied 14 points, four steals and three assists, while Zach Pierce had a double-double of 13 points and 12 rebounds.

Chase Clark had eight points and four steals, and Colton Dinsdale notched seven points and four steals.

Travis Havel scored 20 points and Connor Weber had 12 for Don Bosco (4-4).

GIRLS

Gilbert 41, West Marshall 39

STATE CENTER - Coming back from an eight-point deficit to start the fourth quarter, the Trojans' rally fell apart in the final seconds of a 41-39 non-conference girls' basketball loss to Gilbert here Saturday.

With the game tied at 39, the Tigers' Paige Hoiberg stole the ball with 7 seconds left and broke away for the game-winning layup, handing West Marshall its second straight defeat.

Gabby Reyerson paced the Trojans (4-7) with 21 points and seven rebounds, while Georgia Porter added five points, seven boards and three assists. Mackenzie Coberley scored six points.

Taylor Broshar led Gilbert (9-2) with 11 points.
