Unbeaten Warriors double up MHS girls

WAUKEE - Waukee sophomore Reilly Jacobson scored a career-high 28 points in leading the unbeaten Warriors past the Marshalltown girls' basketball team, 74-37, in Central Iowa Conference play Tuesday.

The Class 5A No. 5-ranked Warriors also got 14 points from Carlie Littlefield and 12 from Anna Kollmorgen in improving to 10-0. Waukee has only played three games decided by 10 points or fewer, and is winning by an average of 23 points per game.

Marshalltown (3-8) was led by Sam Hughes with 12 points, seven rebounds and two blocked shots. Rachel Blagg posted eight points and four boards, while Amanda Hughes chipped in six points. Tabby Steffensen pitched in five points in the loss.

The Bobcats host Johnston Friday and Urbandale Saturday in CIC play, with both games starting at 6:15 p.m.
