A captain at the Marshalltown Police Department is a finalist for the police chief position in Waukee.

Capt. Chris Jones, who has been with the MPD for 18 years, is one of five finalists to replace Larry Phillips, the first-ever police chief in Waukee, who is retiring.

Tim Moerman, Waukee city administrator, said Wednesday that Jones was selected as a finalist and will interview in Waukee next week.

Jones, who oversees administrative services, has served two years as one of three police captains for the MPD.
