Man takes shotgun to neighbor’s door

A local man who allegedly pointed a single-barrel shotgun at his neighbors after knocking on their door has been arrested.

Lee M. Hanson, 32, was arrested Monday, at the Glenda Drive Apartments, 220 Glenda Drive, after residents of the apartment complex notified police about the alleged incident in their building.

Capt. Mike Hanken, of the Marshalltown Police Department, said after the residents in the apartment opened their door, Hanson pointed the weapon at them, yelled at them and demanded to speak to the male resident, accusing him of being in his apartment.

Hanson is charged with aggravated assaulted for displaying the weapon.

In addition to the arrest, several long guns and a hand gun was seized from his apartment.

Hanson is being held in the Marshall County Jail on a $2,000 cash or surety bond.
