It is about time for all our taxing authorities (city, county, state, federal) to realize that the ordinary private citizen is taxed to the maximum.
It's great to give tax breaks to agriculture, business and commercial entities, but there is a limit to the personal burden that the private residential property owner can afford. I feel that amount has been exceeded on at the city, county, state level.
This is bound to have an effect in the future when people determine to own residential property in the local area. Then what happens to your tax base?
Business is given tax incentives to locate in a particular area, isn't it about time to give residential property owners some incentive also, rather than continually increasing the tax burden on them?
