VINTON - Gentlemen, don't start your engines just yet.
Season-opening IMCA specials at Southern Iowa Speedway in Oskaloosa, Marshalltown Speedway, Boone Speedway and Benton County Speedway in Boone have all been postponed due to weather conditions and the resulting lack of time for track preparation.
IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modifieds, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars, Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods and IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks will now run April 10 at Oskaloosa, April 11 at Marshalltown, April 12 at Boone and April 13 at Vinton.
All four Modified features pay $1,000 to win and are qualifying events for the Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot. Stock Cars run for $500 to win, Northern SportMods for $400 and Hobby Stocks for $250 each night. Kent Schrader was slated to race with the Modifieds on the original dates but will not be able to compete at the rescheduled Frostbusters.
Pit gates open at 5 p.m. and the grandstand opens at 5:30 p.m. at Oskaloosa. Hot laps start at 6:30 p.m. and racing begins at 7 p.m.
In Marshalltown, gates open at 4 p.m. and grandstands open at 5 p.m., before hot laps at 6:15 p.m. with racing starting at 7 p.m.
Boone opens the pit gates at 2 p.m. with hot laps at 4 p.m. and racing at 5 p.m.
Gates and the grandstand at Vinton open at 3 p.m.. Hot laps begin at 4 p.m. and racing starts at 4:30 p.m.
IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, regional and Allstar Performance Iowa State points will be awarded each night. All four Frostbusters will be broadcast.
