Amanda Vogt and Ian O'Brien were united in marriage on Saturday, Aug. 31, 2013 at 4 p.m. The ceremony was held at Central Presbyterian Church in Des Moines with the reception following at Zart 1312. Pastor Mark Young officiated the ceremony. Sierra Suarez and Molli Leiting performed ceremony readings.
The bride is the daughter of Noel and Renee Vogt, of Melbourne. The groom is the son of Patrick and Sherri O'Brien, of Clarion.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore an ivory Casablanca gown with beaded lace appliqu on Point D'Esprit over Luxe Satin. The beaded lace appliqu was accented with Swarovski crystals, pearls, beads and silver back sequins with pearl encrusted spaghetti straps.
Sierra Suarez, of Charleston, S.C., sister of the bride, served as matron of honor. Bridesmaids included Olivia Herrick, of Roseville, Minn.; Elena Vukmir, of New York City, N.Y.; Molli Leiting, sister of the groom, of Algona; Skyler Taylor, of Overland Park, Kan.; Jaime Miller, of Des Moines; and Chelsey Gannon, of Chicago, Ill.
Brandon Cramer, of West Des Moines, served as best man. Groomsmen included Travis Schipull, of Des Moines; Andrew Odland, of Rochester, Minn.; Nick Rohrer, of Pleasant Hill; Tyler DeVries, of Altoona; Chase Stahl, of Fairmont, Minn. and Nate Tegmeier, of West Des Moines. Ushers included Ben Freeman, of Fargo, N.D.; Rich Moyer, of Charlotte, N.C.; and Nick Shimon, of Phoenix, Ariz.
Amanda graduated from Marshalltown High School in 2006 and obtained her Bachelor of Science degrees in business administration and marketing from Drake University in 2010. She is currently employed by Communication Links as its advertising and digital media manager.
Ian graduated from Clarion-Goldfield High School in 2004 and the Golf Academy of America in 2008 with a degree in golf complex operations and management. He is currently employed by Cool Clubs as a custom golf club builder.
Following a honeymoon in Kauai Hawaii, Amanda and Ian will reside in Scottsdale, Ariz.
