GCMH nurse receives Iowa Nurses Award
GRUNDY CENTER - Each year 100 Great Iowa Nurses are honored at a ceremony, created for the state of Iowa, by nurse and community leaders.
This award recognizes nurses for making a meaningful and lasting contribution to humanity and our profession. This Great Nurse is also viewed as a mentor to others and exemplifies all of the principles on which the 100 Great Iowa Nurses celebration was founded.
This year, Grundy County Memorial Hospital is proud to announce that one of their own, Theresa Borcherding, RN, telehealth nurse, is a recipient of this prestigious award for 2014.
Borcherding has been very instrumental in getting the telehealth program launched and utilized as well as serving in many other roles within the hospital including working as a nurse in the specialty clinic and emergency departments as well as conducting pulmonary function tests. She is also an instructor for BLS and Safe Sitter classes.
This year's 100 Great Iowa Nurses will be honored the Sunday before National Nurses Week, at 3 p.m. May 4 in the Iowa Events Center, Community Choice Credit Union Convention Center in Des Moines. Please check www.greatnurses.org to purchase tickets or for more details.
