Benjamin Heinrichs, son of Dale and Kathy Heinrichs, of Marshalltown, and Rachel Bitman, daughter of Stewart and Noni Bitman, of Parkland, Fla., were joined in marriage in two ceremonies in June. The first ceremony took place at Prairie Moon Winery in Ames on June 1, with Judge Michael Moon officiating. Rachel wore a dress handmade for her from Mexico, and was attended by her sister Michelle Bitman and Beth Graham, sister of the groom. Ben's attendants were his brother-in-law Gregory Graham and Daniel Bitman, brother of the bride. Following the ceremony there was dinner and a dance, where music was provided by Danny Ellis.
The second ceremony was held on June 8 at the Catedral de Cordoba in Cordoba, Mexico, and was officiated by Rachel's uncle, the Rev. Ricardo Sanchez. Rachel wore a sweetheart lace dress and the six bridesmaids wore strapless persimmon gowns.
Following the ceremony, a banquet reception and dance was held at Casa Azul, a beautiful mountaintop setting in Veracruz. Entertainment was provided by Flamenco dancers, a Marachi band and DJ. Following the ceremony in Mexico, the couple honeymooned in Cancun, Mexico.
