Marshalltown High School coach Scott Smith will direct the Bobcat Boys Basketball Camp at Miller Middle School June 17-20.
The camp is available to boys entering grades 5-12 in the fall of the 2014-15 school year. The grades 9-12 session will run from 9 to 11:30 a.m. followed by the grades 5-8 session from 12:30 to 3 p.m.
The camp will teach the fundamentals of ball handling, passing, defense, rebounding, shooting, one-on-one competition, 3-on-3 competition, 5-on-5 competition, free throw competition, hot shot competition and 3-point shooting. Cost is $40 per participant for any registration form turned in before June 10, before the cost rises to $50. Every participant will receive a camp T-shirt.
The camp staff also includes MHS assistant coaches Todd Beare, Ryan O'Neal and Matt Butler along with AGWSR coach Jason Berkey and additional Bobcat staff and former players.

MHS golf fundraiser set for June 17
American Legion Golf Course will host a Marshalltown High School Fundraiser four-person best shot tournament June 17.
The morning session starts at 8 a.m. and the afternoon session begins at 12:30 p.m. The entry fee is $50 per person and $75 for the morning and afternoon, which includes green fees, cart, lunch and prizes.

Ferentz headlines local I-Club banquet
Four Hawkeye coaches will serve as featured speakers at the annual Marshall County I-Club Spring Banquet on May 7 at Elmwood Country Club.
University of Iowa football coach Kirk Ferentz, women's basketball coach Lisa Bluder, men's basketball assistant coach Andrew Francis and wrestling assistant coach Ben Berhow will each address the audience at the event. NBA champion and Iowa basketball color commentator Bobby Hansen will serve as emcee for the evening. The event starts with a social hour at 5:30 p.m. Dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m. and the program starts at 7:30.
All Hawkeye fans are invited to attend and meet with the coaches, as well as other UI athletic staff. For ticket information contact Larry McKibben at 752-4271. The deadline to order tickets is April 30.
Tickets are $30 per person and tables of eight may be reserved for $240. All proceeds from the event will be donated to the Ben Trickey Memorial Scholarship Fund.
