On May 17 and 18 at the 12th annual "Cowboys In the Sky" Sid Roseland Memorial Calf Roping and Steer Wrestling event was held at the Marshall County Fairgrounds in Marshalltown.
We had cowboys and cowgirls from Minnesota, Missouri, Wisconsin, Nebraska, Illinois and all over Iowa attend and we had great weather. Because of your fantastic support, we were able to award six $1,000 scholarships to High School Rodeo seniors on June 7, at the Iowa High School Rodeo Finals held in Waterloo at the Cattle Congress grounds. The recipients were: Kirbie Crouse, Gallatin, Mo., Cody Jensen, Syracuse, Neb., Carolyn Edler, State Center, Jacy Nelson, Iowa Falls, Shania Calhoun, Harvey, and Breanna Ellis, Dows. In the 12 events that we have held, we have awarded scholarships in Sid's memory, in the amount of $55,000. Your support has been an intricate part of enabling us to do this. Thank you very much.
