Seventeen members of P.E.O. Chapter BB met June 16 at the home of Elaine Graeff. Mary Lovig and Bobbie Olson served as the tea committee.
The business meeting was conducted by president Carol Terry. Chaplain, Jean Brennecke gave the devotions. The secretary's report was read and the treasurer's report was given. The courtesy committee reported that a card was sent to Mary and Dean Kenagy for their 50th anniversary. Members voted on and favorably passed a new name for membership. Carolyn Anderson reminded members to bring gently used purses, scarves and jewelry for the Oct. 4 craft show at Marshalltown Mall. Terry reported on the 122nd Iowa State Convention that she attended in Des Moines May 31 and June 1. Chapter BB was recognized for our $500 donation to the International Peace Scholarship.
After the meeting, P.E.O. sister Glenette Bailey entertained members with a glimpse into her childhood in Alabama. She brought samples of her mom's excellent sewing and smocking. Many memories of her family and her hometown were shared.
The next meeting will be July 21 at the home of Anderson. The tea committee will be Arla Jean Selk, Sandy Short and Julie Squiers.
