Eleanor Divis Hagedorn, 89, died peacefully July 4, 2014 at The Forum on Park Lane, Dallas, TX. She was born to Fred and Julia (Yanko) Divis in Marshalltown, Iowa where she received her education.
Eleanor moved to Dallas in 1961 from San Francisco, CA, and spent the rest of her life as a resident of Dallas. She had a career as an executive secretary, and made life long friends in the various places she worked.
Eleanor had many interests which included traveling, cooking, gardening, photography, painting, and the arts. She was also an avid reader and enjoyed hosting dinner parties for family and friends in her home.
Eleanor is survived by a sister, Lillian Divis Kjormoe (William) of Las Vegas, NV, and sister-in-law, Mary Hatter Divis (Richard) of Suwanee, GA; two nieces, Angela Divis Easterday (Joe) of Trafalgar, IN, and Diane Divis Shihady of Suwanee, GA; two nephews, Kurt Kjormoe of Las Vegas, NV, and Todd Kjormoe (Lorita) of Poulsbo, WA; 5 grand nieces and nephews; a great grand nephew; and close friends. She was preceded in death by her brother, Richard Fred Divis.
There will be no service. Eleanor's ashes will be laid to rest beside her parents in Riverside Cemetery, Marshalltown, Iowa.
