MHS sophomore boys fall to Mohawks

The Marshalltown sophomore boys basketball team suffered another narrow defeat on Friday night, falling 49-48 to Mason City in Central Iowa Conference Northern Division play.

Jacob Streeter paced MHS with 19 points on the night. Spencer Dempewolf contributed nine points, TJ Snyder had eight and Dayton Slifer added six.

The Bobcats are back in action Tuesday at Urbandale.

Bobcat freshmen get past Mason City

The Marshalltown freshman boys basketball team won 62-44 against Mason City at Marshalltown Community College on Friday.

The Bobcats were led by Josh Melde with 19 points. Zach Kluver scored 16 points and Luke Appel added 14.

The MHS freshmen (7-9) will play at Urbandale Tuesday.

Bobcat JV girls bested by SE Polk

The Marshalltown junior varsity girls basketball squad was defeated 60-14 by Southeast Polk on Tuesday night at Marshalltown Community College.

The Bobcats were led by Nya Gatwech with eight points and five rebounds. Ciara Feldman had four points, four boards and two steals, and Cassie Vest rounded out the team’s scoring with two points.

Eleven different players scored for Southeast Polk.
