Start times announced for ‘Big Four’ football

A start time for the annual Iowa-Iowa State football game has been announced. Iowa State also announced its start time for the season opener against Northern Iowa.

The Hawkeyes and Cyclones will kickoff at 3:30 p.m. on Sept. 12 at Jack Trice Stadium in Ames. The game will be televised nationally on FOX.

The road team has won the previous three contests of the rivalry. The last time the home team won was when Iowa State prevailed in 2011 in three overtimes.

Iowa State will open the season against UNI at 7 p.m. on Sept. 5. The game will feature the debut of the renovated Jack Trice Stadium. The South End Zone project will close in the stadium, and increase capacity to 61,000.
