Drake’s Lee wins PFL weekly honor

ST. LOUIS, Mo. – Drake University’s Josh Lee was named Pioneer Football League Special Teams Player of the Week, the league office announced on Sunday.

Lee, a Decorah native, was responsible for 12 points in Drake’s 44-30 victory over William Jewell on Saturday. He made all three of his field goal attempts and converted 3-of-4 extra points. He made two field goals in the second quarter, including one as time expired to help the Bulldogs take a 13-3 lead at halftime.

Lee tacked on a 24-yard field goal late in the third quarter.

Winners leave competition behind

DES MOINES – Cameron Dye and Sarah Haskins both finished Sunday’s Des Moines Triathlon more than two minutes ahead of the competition.

The Des Moines Register reports that Dye finished the swimming, biking and running competition in 1 hour, 47 minutes, 48 seconds. The former University of Iowa swimmer finished 2:05 ahead of the next finisher.

Haskins claimed the women’s title by finishing in 2:00:28. She never lost the lead after the second bike leg.
