Colo-NESCO clobbers English Valleys, 86-0

COLO – The Royals ran for eight touchdowns, returned three interceptions for touchdowns and scooped up a fumble and ran it back for a touchdown as Colo-NESCO routed English Valleys 86-0 in 8-man District 5 play Friday night.

Garret Tiarks led the Royal (7-1, 4-1) ground attack, rushing for 146 yards and three first-quarter touchdowns. Tiarks added another rushing touchdown in the second quarter. The junior also recorded two of the pick-sixes in the second quarter to score a total of six touchdowns in the first half.

The Royals led English Valleys (1-8, 1-4) 65-0 at halftime

Quarterback Brady Stoeffler ran for two first half touchdowns. Wayne Beard ran for two second half touchdowns. Garrett Packer returned a fumble 64 yards for a touchdown in the first quarter, and Tanner Clatt returned an interception 40 yards for a touchdown in the third quarter.

C-N travels to HLV, Victor (7-1, 4-1) this Friday to close out the regular season. The winner will claim second place in the district.

AGWSR 41, North Tama 7

ACKLEY – Levi Stockdale ran for 133 yards and a touchdown, Mason Eilderts ran for two touchdowns and Nathan Karsjens threw two touchdowns as AGWSR (3-5, 3-3) defeated North Tama (0-8, 0-5) 41-7 Friday night in Class A District 4 play.

Karsjens threw for 81 yards and tossed touchdowns to Josh June and Jeremiah Stull. Eilderts ran for 54 yards. Liam Stubbe also ran for 54 yards and a touchdown.

Michael Krienert led the Redhawks in rushing with 39 yards and the team’s lone touchdown. Cael Kopriva ran for 30 yards.

AGWSR travels to West Fork, Sheffield (2-4, 2-6) this Friday for a non-district matchup. North Tama will finish the regular season at Grundy Center (4-4, 3-2).

Iowa Falls-Alden 35, South Hardin 14

ELDORA – Ryland Duchane ran for a 26-yard touchdown and Ty Cook ran for a 12-yard touchdown as South Hardin (2-6, 1-4) fell to Iowa Falls-Alden (3-5, 2-3) 35-14 Friday night in Class 2A District 6 play.

The Tigers were led on the ground by Bridger Lawrence who ran for 44 yards on seven carries. Hunter Edgerton ran for 39 yards, and Cook ran for 36 yards while adding 49 yards passing.

South Hardin will finish the regular season at Union Community (3-5, 3-2) this Friday.

Belle Plaine 70, GMG 6

BELLE PLAINE – A 36-yard touchdown run from Brock Baldazo in the first quarter is all GMG (1-7, 0-6) could muster Friday night as Belle Plaine (5-3, 3-3) tallied 60 first half points to cruise to a 70-6 victory in Class A District 7 play.

Baldazo totaled 80 yards on the ground on 17 carries. Jacob Burt added 30 yards on four carries.

GMG closes out the season hosting Colfax-Mingo (6-2, 5-1) this Friday.
