Comets fall to Dike-New Hartford
DIKE – Taylor Hedges scored a game-high 17 points to go with seven steals to lead the Dike-New Hartford girls’ basketball team past BCLUW 59-49 in Saturday’s cross-NICL contest.
Madison Dove added 12 points and Katie Nielsen added 12 points for the Wolverines (5-1).
Hannah Sams chalked up 15 points and eight rebounds to lead BCLUW (3-4) in defeat. Samantha Ubben had 12 points, five boards and four steals, and Olivia Callaway contributed 11 points and five rebounds.
AGWSR overcomes East Marshall boys
ACKLEY – The AGWSR boys’ basketball team overcame a slow start to defeat East Marshall 48-30 in Friday’s NICL West Division contest.
The Cougars (2-2, 2-1) trailed 8-3 after the first quarter but recovered to tie the game at the half, 13-13, and then outscored the host Mustangs 35-17 after the break.
Zane Johnson led East Marshall (1-3, 1-2) with 10 points, nine rebounds and four steals. Dru Boliver added nine points.
Meskwaki boys remain unbeaten
GILBERTVILLE – Terrell Grant tallied 19 points, seven rebounds, six assists and four steals to lead the Meskwaki boys’ basketball team past Don Bosco (1-4, 1-2) in Friday’s Iowa Star Conference clash.
Jarius Bear added 17 points and Allis Tahahwah had 14 for the Warriors (5-0, 5-0).
