West Marshall splits at Don Bosco

GILBERTVILLE – The West Marshall softball team split its two games at the Don Bosco tournament on Friday, defeating West Branch 4-0 before falling to Class 3A No. 11 Center Point-Urbana 2-1.

Brooke Snider went 3-for-4 from the lead off spot in West Marshall’s (22-11) win. The sophomore recorded a double, scoring twice, batting in another two runs and stealing two bases. Shelby Larsen went 2-for-3, scoring twice and swiping two bags. Georgia Porter was 2-for-4.

Kallie Malloy earned the win from the pitcher’s circle, tossing a complete game shutout on two hits, one walk and four strikeouts.

Snider went 2-for-4 against CPU, picking up a double and an RBI.

The Trojans are back at Don Bosco today, playing North Linn and Dyersville Beckman.
