Ex-Bobcat Oden gains All-American second team
LEXINGTON, Ky. — Southwest Minnesota State senior middle blocker Eisha Oden has been named to the American Volleyball Coaches Association All-American second team.
Oden, a 2013 Marshalltown High School graduate, was one of three All-American honorees for the SMSU Mustangs, an NCAA Division II program in Marshall, Minn. The 5-foot-11 middle finished her senior campaign averaging 3.15 kills and 0.92 blocks per set.
Oden posted the second-highest hitting percentage (.430) in a single season in Mustang history and graduates ranked first all-time in that category with a .347 career attack percentage. She also leaves SMSU ranked eighth with a career average of 1.0 block per set. In three years of court time, Oden accumulated 905 kills and 328 total blocks.
Oden also earned AVCA D-II all-Central Region first-team honors as well as first-team all-Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference accolades. For her efforts in the classroom, Oden, a sports and business management major, was named NSIC All-Academic for the second year in a row.
