ISU’s Carleton shares Big 12’s weekly honor
IRVING, Texas — Iowa State’s Bridget Carleton was named the co-Big 12 women’s basketball Player of the Week, the league announced Monday.
Carleton posted a 30-point effort against TCU, and leads Iowa State averaging 22.5 points, seven and a half rebounds and two and a half assists per game.
The sophomore guard had 15 points and six rebounds in a loss against Oklahoma earlier in the week, and finished with nine more boards against TCU.
It’s the sixth time Carleton earned a weekly award, garnering five Freshman of the Week honors last season. She joins teammates Seanna Johnson and Jadda Buckley as other Cyclones to earn the Player of the Week awards.
Iowa State will head to No. 2 Baylor on Wednesday, tipping off at 7 p.m.
