Lopez lands his fourth weekly baseball award

Marshalltown Community College baseball player Enmanuel Lopez has been named the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference Division I Player of the Week.

MCC went 2-3 during its trip to North Carolina, but the offense belted out an average of nine runs per game. Of the 45 runs scored, Lopez had his hand in nearly a third of them, scoring or driving in 13. The sophomore had a .435 batting average, seven runs scored, eight RBIs and six extra-base hits, including a pair of home runs.

Lopez is batting .429 this season, with a .929 slugging percentage. He’s tied for fifth in the nation with nine double, and is tied with 13 extra base hits. Lopez leads the ICCAC with four home runs. Lopez is the fourth Tiger to earn weekly honors this season.

MCC is back in action on March 11, kicking off a four-game series at Crowder College.
