Pollard ties for 14th at John Deere Junior Open
SILVIS, Ill. — Marshalltown High School junior-to-be JD Pollard tied for 14th place in his division of the 2017 John Deere Classic Junior Open on Monday and Tuesday at TPC Deere Run.
Pollard carded rounds of 11-over-par 82 on Monday and a 6-over 77 on Tuesday for a 159 total, climbing 10 places with the improvement over the second round in the boys’ 16-18 division. Pollard notched one birdie in the tournament, tallying a two on the par-3 12th hole. He added five bogeys and one double bogey to his second-day round of 11 pars.
Nick Pittman of Urbandale, a junior-to-be at Johnston, won the boys’ 16-18 division with a 3-over-par total of 145. Jack Hurley of Waukee, a senior-to-be at Dowling Catholic, was second with a 6-over 148.
