MCC volleyball earns sixth-straight victory
DES MOINES — Marshalltown Community College volleyball improved to 6-0 on Monday night with a road win against the Grand View University junior varsity squad, winning in five sets 21-25, 20-25, 25-21, 25-19, 15-13.
After falling behind 0-2, the Tigers roared back to close out with three close set wins to make sure they stayed undefeated. Head coach Justin Hoskins said he was happy with how his squad handled the slow start.
“I’m extremely proud of how our girls responded to being down 0-2,” he said. “We didn’t panic, we started playing to our strengths, and executing a game plan. The girls showed some real maturity not only from battling back from 0-2 but also from fighting back after going down 0-3 in the fifth set.”
MCC puts its 6-0 record on the line next when it travels to Norfolk, Neb., to take on Southeast Community College and Central Community College on Friday.
